NP Event Venues Team
Ron Murray, Manager Recreation and Events
Ron is in his second spell with NPDC, having worked as Manager Events from 2005-2008. He returned 'home' to New Plymouth in 2013 after five years in Queensland working as an Events Manager with Fraser Coast Regional Council and then Manager of the Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre in the same region. Originally from the UK he spent nine years at the Royal Marines School of Music and after becoming established in events and leisure management there, emigrated to New Zealand in 2000. He has run his own events and sponsorship business and held senior management positions in events, venues, tourism, sports coaching and development in the UK, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
Nelita Byrne, Venues Lead
Nelita oversees the strategic development and business plan in her role leading the team that manages the venue operations. Prior to this role Nelita was Venue Manager of the TSB Showplace with Taranaki Arts Festival Trust. Nelita has over 10 years' experience working in the industry and is a member of VMA and a graduate of PVMS. She has served on the board of PANNZ and is a current executive member of EVANZ. Hayley Olliver, Events Lead
Hayley oversees the in-house events team as well as the delivery of NPDC community events and programmes, including the award winning TSB Bank Festival of Lights, The Taranaki Home and Lifestyle Expo and Waitangi Day celebrations. Hayley has a strong commercial background with previous roles including, Business Development Manager at Grabone and Event and Exhibition Manager for Auaha Events. With extensive experience in event management, sponsorship, sales and marketing Hayley has a successful track record in developing and delivering exceptional events.
David Bird, Events Coordinator
David’s main role involves planning and delivering NPDC managed events such as TSB Bank Festival of Lights. Other roles include assisting the venues team during major events and providing support for various events held within New Plymouth. David has over 10 years' experience working in venues, most recently as an Operations Assistant at the TSB Showplace.
Sally-Anne Coates – Business Development Officer
Before moving to New Zealand, Sally-Anne worked in marketing and business development for a number of high profile companies in the UK including Wembley Stadium Ltd, Royal Doulton and T-Mobile. During her time as a NP Event Venues team member Sally-Anne has helped bring to life such events as the FIFA U20 World Cup, T20 Supersmash Cricket and the Home and Lifestyle Expo. If you are looking to host a sporting event, expo, corporate function or social occasion at any of our venues Sally-Anne is the one to call.
Penny Burmester, Business Development Officer
Penny has a varied background in customer service, hospitality and conference management in both the UK and New Zealand. Penny began working with the NPDC in customer service and has been with the NP Event Venues team since 2006, assisting with the creation of multiple events for clients. With a passion for the theatre, Penny specialises in events held at the TSB Showplace. Hannah Mumby, Marketing and Communications Advisor
Hannah looks after the marketing and communications collateral for the diverse range of events held at TSB Stadium, Yarrow Stadium and the TSB Bowl of Brooklands. She comes from a print media background, having worked as a Fairfax reporter for three years. Hannah then moved on to work as the Communications Executive for the Hurricanes, Wellington Rugby and the HSBC Sevens World Series in Wellington. She has been part of NP Event Venues since September 2016 and is excited to be part of a team that is bringing so many fantastic events to the Taranaki community.
Shannon Bishop, Events and Venues Administrator
Shannon provides administrative assistance to the NP Event Venues Manager and wider team. Shannon has previously worked in a legal administrative role within NPDC.
Angela Wasley, Administration and Project Support
Angela has been part of the NP Event Venues team since February 2015. Angela shares the team's administration tasks with Shannon Bishop while also assisting with a variety of venue projects such as ITM cup, Hyundai A-League Matches, the Super Smash T20 cricket series and the Vodafone Warriors-NRL matches. Angela recently returned home to Taranaki after spending 16 years working in Sydney in a variety of Executive Assistant and Project Support roles.
Julie Johns, Stadium Coordinator
Julie has worked at the Council for 10 years, the last five as the Yarrow Stadium Coordinator. She also has wide experience in other Council venues and an excellent understanding of how to meet client needs. Prior to this, Julie spent 10 years working in Auckland, Sydney, Ireland and the UK in a range of customer service and marketing roles.
Jock Sutherland, Venue Operations Supervisor
Jock has worked at the stadium for nine years and has wide experience with all types of events at the venue. He works well with clients to ensure the venue is presented appropriately to their needs.
Ken Roycroft, Operations Assistant
Ken has been at the venue since April 2013 and with his previous experience and approachable personality he is able to realise client visions for venue set-up and event delivery.
TSB Stadium & TSB Bowl of Brooklands
Neil Fenwick, Venues Coordinator TSB Stadium & TSB Bowl of Brooklands
Neil returned to the NP Event Venues team in 2016 after spending a number of years developing his business skill set. Previously, Neil held the position of Operations Co-Ordinator for TSB Stadium, TSB Showplace and TSB Bowl of Brooklands. Neil has many years of experience in the events and entertainment industry, both in New Zealand, as well as touring overseas with professional theatre productions. Neil enjoys working on the production of events and assisting the NP Event Venues team in bringing major events to New Plymouth.
Eli Paurini, Venue Operations Supervisor
Eli has been working in various positions for the TSB Stadium for eight years, starting off as a casual on-call worker. He has worked his way up to be the full time Operation’s Supervisor. Eli will meet with clients and work alongside the teams at both TSB Stadium and TSB Bowl of Brooklands to ensure delivery of first class events.
Zoe Kensington, Operations Assistant TSB Stadium and TSB Bowl of Brooklands
Zoe has been working in various positions for the NP Event Venues team since November 2014. Starting off in the Summer Scene team for the TSB Bank Festival of Lights programme, Zoe has also worked as a casual on-call worker for the ticketing team and as a customer service operator across NP Event Venues.
Carrie Peterson, Ticketing Co-ordinator
Carrie oversees the day-to-day operations of the ticketing team across all four of our venues and is based at the TSB Showplace. Carrie started with us in November 2015 and comes from a background of Contract Management and Business Services Coordination.
Susan Tozer, Customer Support Officer Ticketing
Susan is a full-time Customer Support Officer who provides ticketing services at all of our venues and is based at TSB Showplace. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Auckland and a strong background in customer service.
Kelly Fenwick, Customer Support Officer Ticketing
Kelly has been working in our ticketing team for seven years, and has a great knowledge over many ticketing systems. Kelly provides the front counter sales service, administration duties and ticketing services across NP Event Venues.
