Purchasing tickets
Eventfinda is the authorised ticket seller for the TSB Showplace for any events going on sale after 1 July 2024. Do not purchase tickets from ticket resellers or scalpers (such as Viagogo).
If you’ve purchased tickets via Ticketek for a future TSB Showplace event already, those tickets are still valid, and you don’t need to exchange them for an Eventfinda ticket.
Purchase Eventfinda tickets online at https://npeventvenues.nz/whats-on, over the phone at 0800 289 849, or in person from New Plymouth iSITE (based at Puke Ariki Museum 65 St Aubyn Street and open 7 days) or Hawera ISITE (55 High Street Hawera 4610, open 7 days).
Purchase Ticketek tickets online at New Plymouth Event Venues or over the phone at 0800 842 538.
Parking
Parking can get very busy particularly in evenings and weekends. The nearest car park is Central Car Park (between Devon Street and Powderham Street, opposite the venue). There's one mobility park in Central Car Park. There is also a drop off/collection park outside the front of the venue. More information on car parking in the local area can be found on the NPDC website.
For assistance with booking taxis, please speak to a member of our team.
Arrival time
The time shown on your ticket is the time the performance starts. The TSB Showplace opens one hour prior to the performance start time and theatre doors open 30 minutes before the show starts.
We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior the performance starting to allow plenty of time to find a car park, familiarise yourself with the venue and enjoy a pre-show drink. There will be an announcement before the start of the performance asking you to make your way to your seats.
Lock out
Live theatre has a ‘lock-out’ policy; a period after the curtain goes up when late-comers are not permitted to enter the auditorium. Lock-out periods are set by the production and vary from show to show. Guests arriving late will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.
Finding your seats
There are three different seating levels in the TSB Theatre; the Stalls (ground level as you enter the venue), the Circle (first floor) and Gallery (second floor). Your ticket will show which level and seat number you have and the ushers will assist you in finding your seats. Please sit in your allocated seat.
Mobile phones
Please remember to switch off your mobile phone to avoid disrupting the performance. The glow and vibration from your phone can disrupt fellow audience members around you as well as the performers.
Food and drink
The venue's bars and 'Kandy Bars' are open pre-show and during the interval. Please do not bring your own food or drinks in to the venue. Reusable cups from the bars must be returned at the end of the show.
Sustainability
We are committed to sustainability and are part of the Taranaki Green Initiative (Toitupu Toiroa). We aim to minimise waste and recycle as much as possible so please use the correct bin when disposing of anything on-site.
Interval
The majority of performances include an interval midway through the performance. These generally last 15-20 minutes and provide the opportunity for you to stretch your legs, go to the bathroom or grab a drink/snack. An announcement will be made at the end of the interval asking you to return to your seat.
If you would like any further information in advance of your visit, please contact the TSB Showplace.
Accessibility
The Theatre Royal and the stalls level of the TSB Theatre are fully accessible for guests in wheelchairs (four wheelchair and six carer seats in the TSB Theatre and four wheelchair and four carer seats in the Theatre Royal). There is also a lift that provides access to all levels for those with limited mobility. There are wheelchair accessible ramps and bathrooms in both venues. Please ensure you speak to our box office staff or Eventfinda if you wish to book a wheelchair seat. If you have any special requirements, please mention this to a staff member when booking your tickets.
Due to steep and narrow seating and stairways, we do not recommend the Gallery for patrons with limited mobility.
If you have a walking aid please be aware that due to fire regulations these will be kept outside of the theatre during the performance and returned at the end. In the unlikely event of an evacuation, please remain in your seat until all patrons have exited the theatre. We have one wheelchair in the venue which is available to borrow. If you wish to use this, please advise the team when booking your tickets so we can ensure it is available for your use.
Hearing and guide dogs are welcome. Please let our team know when booking so we can offer appropriate seating.
A P2 drop-off and pick-up area is directly in front of the venue.
We want to make the TSB Showplace as accessible as possible for everyone. If you need support with access, audio and visual needs, or reserving an easy access seat in the theatre, please contact us prior to your visit by calling us on 06 759 0021 or by visiting us in person at the TSB Showplace box office.
