Enjoy sports in an epic atmosphere at Yarrow Stadium

Yarrow Stadium is the home ground for the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls for the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup. This year there is a unique opportunity to sit on the side-line close to the action that will provide an incredible atmosphere! 

The stadium owner, the Taranaki Stadium Trust, has confirmed the terraces are safe to use however both stands will be out of action for the rugby matches. 


Getting to Yarrow Stadium

Yarrow Stadium (also known as Stadium Taranaki) is located off Maratahu Street in the central suburb of Westown, New Plymouth and is 5 – 10 minutes from the centre of New Plymouth.

The venue is a 20 - 30 minute walk from New Plymouth city centre. Follow the blue line from the city, starting at Puke Ariki, to get to the stadium.

Vehicle access is from Maratahu Street and easy on-street parking is available on Tukapa Street and Frankley Road (note: road closures are in place on Maratahu Street for major events but please check specific event details for full road closure information). For smaller events, functions or VIP there are 180 car park spaces available onsite adjacent to field 2, and a further 40 car parks in the main compound for smaller events.

Entry Gates

The main entry is through Gate 1 off Maratahu Street (by Tukapa Street), Gate 2 is also off Maratahu Street with restricted access, Gate 3 entry is located on Clawton Street, Gate 4 is via the driveway next to the West Side Grille off Tukapa Street.

Mitre 10 Cup ticket sales are only available from Gates 1 & 4. Gate 2 is closed during Mitre 10 Cup games.

Seats purchased in the South End Family Zone can be accessed via the stairwell near gate 3 (Digital screen end)

Seats purchased in the East Stand, Cockies Corner, and North Corporate Tent can be accessed via the stairwells at Gate 1.

Buy Tickets

Tickets to events at the venue can be purchased at the Ticketing Box Office located at the TSB Showplace. There are ticket sales at Gate 1 and 4 on game days with ticket pick-up at Gate 1 only (check Gate open times on the What's On page). You can purchase PYO tickets and even scan the barcode from your smartphone to avoid queues. Tickets to the Mitre 10 Cup 2019 season can also be purchased from Ticketek.


Food and Beverage

A range of hot and cold food is available for purchase, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. A permanent food stand is located on the West Stand kiosk.

Payment options are cash or EFTPOS. 


Toilets are located within the West Stand. For major events additional temporary toilets are placed around the venue.


The venue has an allocated area for wheelchairs at the Gate One (Upper Maratahu Street) end of the West Stand.

Conditions of Entry

There’s nothing better than being in amongst the action and watching a live game at one of the best venues in New Zealand, however, to keep it special we’ve got a few rules to follow.

You're welcome to bring non-commercial food in like sandwiches, fruit and biscuits and if it's wet we allow umbrellas and tarps (just don't block anyone's view of the event otherwise you will have to take them down).

Bag searches will be undertaken at the gates

Prohibited items include:

  • Alcohol
  • Commercially produced takeaway food items such as McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, Burger King, etc
  • Beverages other than water in sealed clear plastic bottles up to 1L in size
  • Glassware, glass bottles, thermos flasks or other breakable containers
  • Banners, placards, flags or poles of more than 1m in length for displaying the same, or material for the construction or assembly of such articles
  • Prams, strollers and pushchairs or such similar items are permitted in the General Admission area but only at National Provincial Cup games

Lost Property

If you have lost something precious to you or found something without a home please hand it over to event or security staff.   

Lost property will be held at Yarrow Stadium for one working day and then it will be handed to the Police Station.
